The most recent expansion to the National Aqaurium in Baltimore responds to the increased attendance experienced by the facility over recent years. Specifically, it addresses the problem of how to efficiently and comfortably accommodate large numbers of visitors to the aquarium. The expansion includes a new structure that echoes the form of the original building and encloses a riverine habitat from Australia. Various unique species from the arid climes of the Australian heartland are displayed. The expansion also enhances

visitor circulation and includes additional visitor services such as ticketing, restaurants and a museum shop.

Ginette Castro (while at CSP Inc.) assisted with concept development and generated exterior glazing details for the project.
